Those of you who care to look into the future...Sunday is hot!
I only went out briefly this morning to buy a bottle of water and call my parents from a booth. Oh, and some shampoo.
Yesterday I tried to cure my solitude and general blahness with some retail therapy. The thing about shopping is that it's fun while you're there actually doing the shopping. It's instant gratification. And as quickly as it comes, it evaporated once I left the mall. Besides, like all suburban phenomena, malls are saturated with teeny bopper kids giggling and checking each other out. It's no different in India. The only real difference - here it's ok for all teen boys (regardless of preference) to hold hands.
On the way back, the auto driver I hailed tried to charge me extra. He got away with it for the most part. I didn't give him all he wanted and so then he tried guilting me into it with, "You can afford to live in such a nice hotel," and "the price of petrol is outrageous." still didn't mean he had to target me like that but it's bound to happen...well he still made money off of me even though he said i was cheating him...
now i've got to figure out what to do today...

subarna!
i am right there with you on the solitude front... it's hard to get used to, isn't it? though it makes for a lot of creativity and a little desperation... i mean, i watched edward scissorhands dubbed into spanish last night. i hope that you're settling in there, and that the heat becomes more bearable. i started to sweat just reading about it.
looking foward to more updates.
cheers,
nathalie
